So…I’m an idiot. In doing what I thought was a routine emptying of my photos on Google+, I accidentally deleted ALL of my blog’s photos. Yep, ALL FOUR YEARS of them.
Yesterday was not great – I beat myself up all day, all while trying to frantically recover the lost pictures (no luck). Today, I feel a little better. As Conrad wisely pointed out to me, I can choose how to view this incident. On the one hand, I can wallow in self-pity, make a big deal over something that is truly NOT the end of the world, and use it as an excuse to give up on something I truly enjoy doing….
OR I can see this as a new slate, a chance to let go of old content and embrace a new chapter in my life. I can see it as extremely lucky that I have backed up most of my pictures on my computer (still have to reload them, reformat them, rearrange them if I want them to be back on the blog, but that is doable!), and I can see it as a chance to more clearly define what I want my blog to be about, without having my old (and, frankly, often random) posts hold me back.
Given the choice, which course would you choose? Not a difficult question, right?
So without further ado, welcome to Lately Lena 2.0, where the main content will continue to revolve around:
- Things I ❤ (fashion, the internet, art, cooking, writing, photography)
- Beings I ❤ (my friends, my siblings, Conrad, our dog)
- My life (weekends, travel, excursions, lately, favorites)
