golden globes 2016

Hello and happy Monday!
Last night was the 2016 Golden Globes, and while I did not watch the show (we don’t have cable!), I love, love, LOVE awards season! To be completely honest, I don’t really care about the winners/losers/nominees (though I am always happy to see the underdog win). For me, the best part is, quite superficially, the clothes. Growing up, my mom would always buy the Oscars edition of InStyle and she, my sister, and I would always sit and rate each dress from “I’d wear that” to “What was she thinking!?”. Such good times

Therefore, I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorites from this season with you guys! As you will see, I’m very minimal when it comes to gowns, and I truly believe that simpler is always better. My favorites from last night showed a lot of classic neutrals, clean lines, impeccable tailoring, and monochrome.

Taraji P. Henson in Stella McCartney
America Ferrera in a vibrant dress by Jenny Packham

Sophia Bush in Narciso Rodriguez – one of my absolute faves!
Laverne Cox looking regal in Elizabeth Kennedy

Alicia Viklander (whoop, Sweden!) in Louis Vuitton

Kirsten Dunst in Valentino – kind of a weird one, I admit, but something about it so mesmerizing to me!
Rooney Mara in Narciso Rodriguez. I always love how she embraces the pale, especially in this nude, ruffled number.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Zuhair Murad Couture – not really my style, but she looks incredible.
Lily James in Marchesa

As for my personal pick for ‘Best-Dressed’?

Saoirse Roan in Prabal Gurung, hands down. So simple, so elegant, so timeless.
I also thought the beauty and hair looks were on point last night, so I made some collages of my favorites in that category!
Chic updos
Long and flowing

So much pretty!

Tell me, what were your favorite looks?

xxLena
