beauty favorites

A beauty product junkie through and through, I am always looking for the next best ‘miracle’ product. While I am still on the hunt for something that takes away blemishes, wrinkles, sun spots, cellulite, and redness magically overnight, I have found some other, more down-to-earth beauty winners, and I thought it would be fun to share what I’ve been loving lately!

Glossier Balm Dotcom
This product has been a LIFE SAVER this winter. It’s an all-over beauty balm that you can apply to your lips, hands, elbows, or anywhere that needs a little extra moisture. The texture is pretty thick, but it’s not sticky and it’s also completely scent-free, which I personally like. At night, I apply it on my fingers to eradicate their alligator-like texture and in the morning I smudge some on my lips for a semi-glossy clear balm that makes your lips feel incredibly smooth and soft.

John Frieda Beach Blonde Sea Salt Spray
This is something of a ‘cult’ product that I remember wanting way back in middle school that mysteriously disappeared a few years later and now that it’s back, I couldn’t be happier! This is the best sea salt spray I’ve ever used. I have super-fine, super straight hair that holds a curl for approximately five minutes before it goes limp…until now. This spray is the first one I’ve used that actually gives my hair a shape other than straight and flat (without making it crunchy), and it smells amazing (without being overpowering),

Anastasia Brow Wiz
After a miserable 4-5 years of extreme over-plucking when I was younger, I never really did anything with my brows and they kind of hung out in a weird non-shape. Then when my sister started getting occasional brow waxings, it made such a difference to her face that I finally plucked (ha!) the courage to go get mine done. All I can say is WOW. I love their new shape, but they are still a little sparse in some areas thanks to my plucking obsession. I bought this pencil before my wedding and I am never going back to anything else. It’s light, super thin, blends seamlessly into my brows, and just helps them to look a little fuller. It’s actually the only product I wear every single day, because when you have good brows, it just has to be a good day, right??

Pixi Glow Mist
I totally hopped on the bandwagon with this one, but this mist lives up to the hype. You can wear it on it’s own or over makeup, and even a quick spritz provides a dewy glow that feels light and refreshing. It’s also scent-, paraben- and sulfate-free so there’s no chance of irritation or adverse reactions. Sure, you might not ‘need’ a mist, but there’s something about this product that feels so luxurious and self-indulgent that makes it worth it.

Essie Nail Polish in Style Hunter
Can you tell I’m willing summer to arrive? This color is exactly the kind of pick-me-up I need after Tuesday’s snow dump; something bright, happy, and pink! To be honest, I probably wouldn’t wear this color on my nails to work, but it’s my go-to for my toes. When I take off my wet and cold socks at the end of the day, I always feel just a tiny bit better when I see a flash of pink on my toes.

What beauty products are you loving lately? I’d love some reccomendations!
