It was gloriously warm and sunny out (these photos were taken around 6:30 pm!), so we headed straight for patio.

First things first, chips and salsa! They do an amazing salsa bar that you can pick and choose from. The spicy beer-infused one is my favorite – I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s the orange one in this picture.
I love La Luz because they have such a variety of delicious and actually quite healthy dishes to choose from. You can go big with the nachos or a burrito, or try out a few street tacos or a quesadilla (the shrimp one is my FAVE).

I look so mad in this photo, but I promise I wasn’t!

Did I mention that they also do incredible cocktails? In my opinion, they serve the best margs in town (I like mine tart and not too sweet). I’ve decided to do a ‘dry’ month (no drinking for the month of April!), so I went with one of their non-alcoholic cocktails, that was one of the most delicious drinks I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t see it on their online menu, but if you go, ask for the non-alcoholic margarita. It is divine.
Conrad got the classic: El Jefe.
Description from the menu:
“Like it tart? Our classic house margarita is made COIN STYLE – Nothing but Blanco tequila, Cointreau & fresh lime juice.”

Yum!

Conrad got the chicken enchiladas smothered in their spicy chipotle/tomato sauce. Mmmm.

And I branched out and got the big (aka not street) taco with steak. I usually almost always get the shrimp quesadilla (because it is just soooo good!), but I wanted to try something new.

Served with fragrant cilantro rice and refried black beans, these were incredible.

So fresh and, despite the huge amount of food, surprisingly light. You don’t feel weighed down by grease when you leave La Luz.
My handsome date (ignoring me, as per usual ☺)

Such a fun way to end the weekend ☺
Tell me, have you been to La Luz? What did you think?
If you haven’t, get there STAT for some of the best drinks, food, and people-watching downtown. I can’t recommend it enough!
