Conrad and I missed Tour de Fat last year because we spent the weekend camping, so I was especially excited for this year’s parade. It started as it usually does, with brunch + booze!
By the way, if you’ve never heard of Tour de Fat, it is a bicycle parade held by New Belgium Brewery and is a Fort Collins tradition. This year marked the tour’s 17th anniversary!
My costume this year was kind of slapped together at the last minute, but I think it turned out really good!
{P.S. It is surprisingly hard to pose for a photo without smiling! This was attempt #5…}
Sufficiently fed, we took off for the parade…
…where, as predicted, the tour was in full swing!
The group.
While the costumes were more than captivating, I became smitten with this big guy.
Sweet, sweet Bruno. I love you!
But I digress. Back to the tour:
Once the tour was over, we evaded the crowd and made our way to a friend’s house, short-shorts in tow.
After hearing that I’d never done a beer bong, John convinced me that life wasn’t worth living if you haven’t shot beer into your throat via a plastic tube.
With the help of a seasoned pro, I seized the day and went for it!
The verdict? It was fun!
I probably wouldn’t do it again, but I guess now I can check that item off my bucket list ☺
We ended the day with a fantastic lunch at Choice City.
Full and happy, everyone headed home to nap the afternoon away.
Such a fun, truly ‘Fort Collins’ day!
