friday favorites

Wow, guys. What. A. Week.

Are you as wiped out as I am? After the emotional roller coaster that was this past week, I don’t know if I’ve ever been more relieved to see Friday. Like most people I know, I am still in a state of shock by the election results. All week long, I’ve felt myself vascillate between bouts of intense sadness and random bursts of anger, followed by quiet moments of dispair.

The tension in the air is palpable, but I’m comforted by the fact that so many of us are feeling just as confused and saddened. In the next few weeks, I’m going to try to be extra kind both to myself and my fellow citizens.

Despite what ‘the people’ have chosen, I refuse to accept sexism, racism, exclusion, bigotry, intolerance, and xenophobia as normal, and I vow to always defend those who can’t defend themselves. In the end, love trumps hate. Always.

Alright, enough of that for now. On a lighter note, please keep reading to enjoy this weeks’ faves!
