week 1

Hello, and happy 2020!

One of my new year’s resolution is to blog more, so I have decided to commit to writing one post per week (minimum). In Sweden, it’s common to refer to time in terms of which week of the year it is, so I think it’s fitting to use the weeks to track my progress. I realize that I am a bit behind already, as week 2 starts tomorrow, but better late than never, eh?

Last week was just wonderful. I was in Tuscany with my family, where we rented a villa in Greve in Chianti. We ate delicious food (why does literally everything taste better in Italy?), strolled through charming medieval towns like Siena and San Gimignano, avoided the crowds in Firenze, and drank more frothy cappuccinos than I can count. It was a great trip, made only slightly less so by the fact that I was hit with a horrible cold upon arriving home.

I’ve been couch-ridden and binge-watching ‘You’ on Netflix for the last two days and am finally feeling better this evening. As luck would have it, tomorrow is a public holiday (!!) so I have one more day to catch up on laundry and prep for the next week, and I am really looking forward to it.

Hope you all had a great holiday, and are feeling good about 2020 (minus the horrific Australian bush fires and threats of a US war with Iran, both of which are keeping me up at night). But, hey, if Britney was able to make it through 2007, we can do anything 😘
